El Cachorro and La Esperanza de Málaga dawn in St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican

The dream of many Andalusian brotherhoods came true this Wednesday, when the images of the Cachorro de Triana and the Esperanza de Málaga dawned in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, the epicentre of the Catholic Church.

The carvings arrived in Rome on Tuesday and since this morning have been on display in the chapel of San José, where they will receive worship until Friday, when the Jubilee of the Brotherhoods celebrations will begin, in which many Catholics from all corners of the world are expected to take part.

The Canal Sur programme ‘Andalucía en Semana Santa’, produced by the ADM Group, told all the ins and outs of what is going to happen there two months ago from Rome.

The fifth season of the programme, presented by Enrique Romero, gave a preview of the route of the Great Procession in Rome, and even told what would happen in the event of the Pope’s death, as finally happened.

Now, it is a great opportunity to watch the complete programme again, to understand perfectly what will happen this week in Rome:
